Ontic’s Creedmoor, NC, site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Firstspan, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin. Our team is looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join them. You will report to the Director of Sales and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, NC.
To be considered for the Technical Sales Manager role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
- Have 2+ years of technical sales experience, ideally in aerospace, defense, or a parallel B2B manufacturing environment
- Be skilled in lead generation, proactive outreach, and navigating internal stakeholders
- Understand how to support both long-cycle programs and short-term transactional opportunities
- Be highly self-directed, comfortable working through ambiguity, and capable of translating high-level goals into action
- Thrive in fast-paced, on-the-ground roles with high ownership and visibility
- Ability to support travel expectations: ~50 domestic and international, including trade shows and onsite customer visits.
As a Technical Sales Manager, you will:
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with a range of global customers across the commercial, government, and defense sectors
- Reignite lapsed accounts and proactively identify new sales opportunities to support organic growth
- Create and lead high-impact sales campaigns while supporting the full lifecycle of customer engagement, from lead generation through proposal and order delivery
- Collaborate closely with value streams and estimating teams to improve profitability, reduce inventory, and strengthen the Ontic customer experience
- Educate customers and government agencies (DOD/FMS) on Ontic’s product portfolio and lifetime support value
- Own sales reporting, pipeline forecasts, trip reports, and weekly highlights to support leadership visibility
- Use data insights and tools like Power BI and CRM (Dynamics) to manage leads and monitor performance
- Contribute to strategic forecasting and provide inputs to the 5-year commercial roadmap
- Draft and negotiate proposals, including preparation of TINA packages where applicable

Compensation Pay Range
$110,000 - $140,000/year, based on experience
