Role Summary
The Pre-Employment & Credentialing Specialist is responsible for conducting pre-employment screening including drug testing and fingerprinting; badge printing, distribution, and access credentialing for Alaska Airlines (AS) and Horizon Air (QX) employees and vendors. As a member of the Safety team, this individual contributor role supports the overall AS and QX onboarding process, as well as ensuring compliance with all company policies and CFRs (Code of Federal Regulations), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and US Postal Service contract requirements related to pre-employment screening.
Key Duties
Conducts applicable pre-employment testing based on role.
Makes determinations, based on regulatory guidance, as to specimen validity based on physical factors and donor actions.
Enforces direct-observation specimen collections as required.
Determine when to declare a “refusal to test” based on regulatory parameters and reports occurrences to Designated Employer Representative.
Collects fingerprints as needed for crew badging, port IDs, USPS screening, etc.
Documents, communicates, and escalates access security issues to appropriate parties.
Partners with Corporate Security on the addition of new area access-control requirements.
Enforce direct-observation specimen collections as required.
Process ID photos and manage the issuing of new company ID badges, collection of replaced/expired ID badges and approval of security access to meet Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, and TSA requirements.
Maintain supplies and equipment in office for testing, fingerprinting, and badge issuing.
Perform other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
2 years of experience in a service orientation role.
Demonstrated (moderate) computer skills including working with database programs, online information tracking, basic troubleshooting and intuitive processing.
Demonstrated skills in the following areas: security, compliance, communication, risk management, customer service, problem solving, conflict resolution, project management.
Adeptness at relationship-building with various levels of leadership across all divisions.
Must be a self-starter who takes initiative in finding solutions to difficult and unique problems and/or opportunities.
A proven ability to work independently and to prioritize competing priorities.
Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
Valid U.S. passport.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
A working knowledge of Alaska Airlines’ and Horizon Air’s Drug & Alcohol policies, 49 CFR Part 40, 14 CFR Part 121 and TSA directives regarding employee IDs, fingerprinting and CHRCs.
A working knowledge of OnGuard or other access management systems.

Salary Range
$50,400 --- $70,550 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
