Are you an experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer with a strong manufacturing focus? A global aerospace interiors manufacturer is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer to support production, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect product and flight safety across the manufacturing lifecycle.
This is a hands-on operational quality role, working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure products are built, repaired, and released in line with customer, regulatory, and aerospace quality standards. You’ll play a key role in driving quality performance, resolving issues, and supporting on-time delivery.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as a key quality interface to operations, supporting manufacturing throughput while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Ensuring products meet customer, regulatory (EASA/CAA), and AS9100 requirements throughout manufacture and repair.
- Supporting product release activities, including Form 1 signatory responsibilities.
- Managing in-production quality issues, non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints.
- Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using QRQC / 8D methodologies.
- Conducting audits and on-the-job training in line with internal procedures, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Analysing quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring quality controls, special processes, accreditations, and measurement systems are in place and effective.
- Managing quality aspects of outsourced or offloaded production and MRO activities.
- Coaching and mentoring operational staff on quality requirements and best practices.
- Escalating and stopping production where quality or safety risks are identified and defining restart conditions.
What you’ll bring
- HNC / HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Strong experience as a Quality Engineer within aerospace or defence manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, Poke Yoke, RCCA).
- Proven experience producing 8D reports and leading corrective actions.
- Solid understanding of aerospace regulations and quality management systems.
- Confidence working with operations, customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to challenge at all levels to protect quality and safety.
Desirable experience
- AS9100 Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience within aerospace interiors.
- Production or shop-floor manufacturing experience.
- CQI membership.
