About this positionThe Manager, Cargo & Ramp is responsible for the implementation of the cargo customer service strategy to improve service, effectiveness and efficiency of ground handling and maximize revenue generation. Manages all employees, contractors and operational matters at the assigned station(s) within agreed standards and KPIs, while ensuring compliance with air carrier safety and security regulations.
Please note: This rotational role follows a 2-weeks-on/2-weeks-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts during each rotation. Work periods are based in Iqaluit, NU. Travel assistance and rotational accommodations are provided, supporting a balanced schedule with extended time off between rotations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of the cargo and ramp operations to ensure regulatory and corporate standards are implemented and upheld to the highest standard
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring a customer service oriented team environment
- Ensures sufficient manpower to safely and efficiently process cargo, load/unload aircraft and ground handle all flights
- Ensures all Cargo and Ramp employees are fully trained in their responsibilities, including regulatory, safety, equipment, emergency response, dangerous goods, etc.
- Responsible for the ongoing leadership, development and direction of cargo and ramp employees to ensure departmental objectives are achieved
- Responsible for departmental budgets, including monthly reports
- Responsible for sourcing and securing third party contracts
- Promotes, monitor and ensure a safe work environment for all employees
- Ensures that all equipment and facilities are maintained to acceptable levels at all times and identifies deficiencies and/or risks
- Ensures that daily equipment checks are carried out prior to equipment being used and retain records for audit purposes
- Represent the Company within the community, as required
- Active member of the Emergency Response team
- Ensure stations ongoing compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations and industry standards
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- Post Secondary Education (2 years)
- Five (5) years of previous relevant experience
- Operational knowledge of aircraft ground handling for all Company aircraft
- Previous warehouse and/or logistics experience an asset
- Possess strong organizational & interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational and customer service skills
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Budgeting and accounting experience required
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Familiar with the Unifor collective agreement or previous experience in a unionized work environment
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
