Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing outsourced accounting teams that manage accounting close, audit coordination, and financial analysis for APAC and Poland entities, covering for approximately 20 business units.
This role reports to the Sr Accounting Manager and works in close partnership with the Sr Accounting Manager, sharing responsibility for oversight and governance across the portfolio. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with local statutory requirements, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement across the region.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and oversee outsourced accounting teams responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close for APAC and Poland entities.
- Review and approve accounting deliverables including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analysis
- Oversee intercompany accounting and billings in accordance with group transfer pricing policies
- Manage statutory audits, annual statutory filings, and other regulatory or statistical filings as required by local authorities
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements while maintaining alignment with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Act as the primary point of contact and escalation for outsourced accounting service providers and conduct regular service-level reviews
- Develop, refine, implement, and document accounting and business workflow processes to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Identify control gaps and drive remediation actions to strengthen governance and compliance
- Coordinate accounting-related system enhancements and work closely with IT and cross-functional teams
- Support ad hoc accounting, analysis, and project requests as required
- Willing to work flex hours to cover APAC region
Qualifications:
- Bachelors with 9 years prior experience in data engineering, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience in data engineering. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing processes.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred
- Proven experience managing outsourced accounting teams and full-set accounting across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and local statutory reporting requirements within APAC
- Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills
- Demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and professional judgment
- Able to communicate and influence leadership regarding matters of substantive importance to the function, including conducting briefings to senior leaders when required.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a flexible environment across multiple time zones
This posting is for a current vacancy. In the province of Ontario, Canada, the pay range for this position will be $100,000 to $150,000.
