Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Pascagoula, MS that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry.
The Structural Laborer/Helper will be responsible to work under the direction of senior tradespeople to move materials, prep metal components, and assist with layout, alignment, and fit-up of structural parts.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in cutting, grinding, and prepping steel and other structural materials
- Move and position beams, plates, and frames for installation
- Help with rigging and securing parts during fit-up or lifting
- Clean and maintain tools, work areas, and equipment
- Support fitters and welders during fabrication or installation
- Operate basic tools (e.g., grinders, saws, drills) safely
- Follow safety rules for confined spaces, heights, and hot work zones
- Read and follow basic layout markings or instructions
- Load/unload materials and assist with staging work areas
Requirements
- Physically fit: able to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, and climb ladders
- Basic knowledge of construction or metalworking tools
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Comfortable working in outdoor, indoor, or shipboard environments
- Familiarity with grinding, measuring, and handling metal
- Strong attention to safety and teamwork
