Job SummaryThe QA/QC Inspector – AMO is responsible for supporting the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) by performing Quality Control (QC) inspection activities within maintenance operations and Quality Assurance (QA) surveillance functions within the Manufacturing environment.This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, approved maintenance data, company procedures, and the organization’s Quality System. The position is structured to maintain independence and functional separation between operational maintenance activities and quality assurance oversight in accordance with applicable CAR 573 requirements.The QA/QC Inspector – AMO supports a strong safety culture by promoting the Safety Management System (SMS), Service Difficulty Reporting (SDR), and continuous quality improvement initiatives across the organization. Travel to YYZ and other company locations may be required to support operational and quality activities.Direct AccountabilitiesPerform in-process and final inspections of maintenance activities as assigned.Verify maintenance activities are completed in accordance with approved maintenance data, work orders, task cards, manuals, and procedures.Review maintenance documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper certification.Identify, document, and report maintenance non-conformities in accordance with approved procedures.Exercise acceptance or rejection authority within delegated QC authority limits.Provide inspection support for structures activities when qualified and authorized.Promote the Service Difficulty Reporting (SDR) process and Safety Management System (SMS).Raise SMS findings and safety reports as required.Conduct QA surveillance and audit activities within the Manufacturing environment.Verify Manufacturing activities comply with approved procedures, regulatory standards, and the organization’s Quality System.Document audit findings, observations, and non-conformities, and support corrective action tracking and verification.Participate in internal and external audits affecting Manufacturing operations.Maintain current company and regulatory training requirements applicable to the role.Perform additional duties as assigned in support of operational requirements and regulatory compliance.Education RequiredCompletion of applicable aviation regulatory and quality assurance training programs.Training in quality inspection, auditing principles, maintenance documentation, and aviation safety systems is considered beneficial.Experience, Skills, and AttitudeRequired Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME-E) License.Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, or aircraft maintenance inspection activities.Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation, inspection procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.Strong written communication and technical documentation skills.Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Ability to maintain professionalism and objectivity while performing quality oversight functions.Preferred Experience in aerospace manufacturing, inspection, or quality assurance environments.Previous Quality Assurance, internal audit, or regulatory compliance experience.Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), particularly CAR 573 requirements.Experience supporting Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Service Difficulty Reporting (SDR) processes.Experience performing inspections related to aircraft structures activities.AssetsKnowledge of aviation quality management systems and audit methodologies.Experience working within Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) and Manufacturing environments.Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action processes.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to travel to YYZ and other company locations as operationally required.
