Reports to Vice President and General Manager

Permanent role

On-site, Mississauga, ON

Salary: Up to $230K based on experience
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen and expand the organization’s engineering capability to deliver industry-leading solutions across aerospace modification, aviation systems, and technical services.
  • Serve as the senior engineering representative in engagements with Canadian and international regulatory authorities, ensuring full adherence to safety, quality, and certification requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for internal safety and compliance activities supporting aircraft certification and continued airworthiness.
  • Establish and maintain engineering design frameworks, including standardized practices, lessons learned integration, corrective action processes, and certification-ready documentation aligned with civil and military standards.
  • Drive the adoption of effective engineering execution methods while acting as a trusted technical authority and resource across the engineering organization.
  • Lead and champion rigorous technical governance, including structured design reviews and validation processes across all delivered programs.
  • Build a culture where both engineering leadership progression and deep technical expertise are equally recognized as critical to long-term success.
  • Direct and develop engineering leadership and specialist teams, with accountability for talent decisions including hiring, performance management, succession planning, and organizational structure.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify future-critical technical competencies required to support strategic growth and evolving program demands.
  • Design and implement role-based technical development pathways, ensuring engineers are equipped with the tools, training, and knowledge to perform at the highest level.
  • Own technical career development frameworks, including identification of high-potential talent, structured reviews, advancement planning, and retention of key technical expertise.
  • Mentor engineering leaders to foster an engineering-driven business culture rooted in accountability, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, organizational direction, and performance goals for the engineering function in collaboration with senior leadership.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive aerospace engineering experience, with proved depth in one or more technical disciplines.
    Structural design and analysis experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations, managing complex programs, and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian aviation regulatory environments, including familiarity with regional aviation authorities and certification frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, decision-making, and cross-functional leadership capability in highly regulated environments.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the curiosity and drive to elevate engineering performance every day.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering or technical discipline required.
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Strong project/program leadership experience within Canadian aviation environments considered an asset.
