How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Senior Data Scientist, Predictive Engineering will help advance the engineering and maintenance organization through the application of innovative and robust analytical and modeling solutions aimed at deriving insights from complex aircraft mechanical performance data. These include, but are not limited to, the application of machine learning techniques on both aircraft operational and maintenance data aimed at identifying precursors to component degradation across the entire aircraft. Analyses may also include cross-skill partnerships for the development of risk metrics, key performance indicators leveraging large textual data repositories, and development of visual tools using business intelligence solutions. An appropriate candidate will have hands-on experience in natural language processing, machine learning, statistical analysis, and data storytelling. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Masters degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Doctoral degree preferred) 3-5 years of work experience in advanced analytics and data science Working knowledge of GIT for code management Hands‑on experience developing, training, and deploying models using Tensorflow and/or Pytorch Extensive experience in regression analysis including, but not limited to, linear regression, Logistic regression. Able to explain and quantify regression results Significant experience in developing neural network, decision tree, random forest, and LSTM models Good written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority (For internal applicants) must be performing satisfactorily in present position Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) Experience with AWS services for scalable Data Science development (e.g., Sagemaker, S3, Bedrock) or equivalent cloud services including Palantir Foundry Familiarization with API consumption and orchestration pipelines Knowledge of transformer architecture and current landscape of LLM Strong proficiency in Python, including pandas, scikit‑learn, NumPy, SciPy, and MLflow or similar tools.Experience with SQL and large‑scale data querying Experience with timeseries data modeling, anomaly detection Experience in using GE Aerospace EMS (Event Measurement System) application
