Position Overview
Here at Ansty Park were looking for experienced Quality Engineers who will support the design, manufacture, and delivery of aerospace products that meet customer, regulatory, and Parker quality requirements by developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality systems, processes, and tools. The Quality Engineer serves as the primary technical resource for product and process quality, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions, driving variation reduction and defect prevention, supporting AS9100/AS9145 and customer compliance, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure robust qualification, configuration control, and ongoing conformance throughout the product lifecycle.
This role executes and supports the value stream quality strategy, serving as a key technical interface to customers, supplier quality/management, internal functions, and value stream leaders. The position requires an experienced quality professional who can interpret and communicate customer requirements, translate them into effective controls and standards, and ensure internal value streams and external suppliers achieve and sustain zero-defect performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Govern key business metrics that demonstrates compliance to AS9100/AS13100/ISO9001, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA), Product and Process audits to industry standards (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100/9110/9120, CAA, EASA etc.)
- Provide quality support to the value stream(s)
- Ensure containment for concerns are implemented & drive root cause, corrective actions using effective problem resolution methodologies such as 8Ds in a timely manner to business objectives
- Lead quality performance improvement initiatives internally and externally
- Roll-out and support the implementation of the ZeroDefect program to reduce DPPM
Essential skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for this position
- A relevant engineering or technical degree, or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority.
- Relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry or an equivalent industry/field
- Experienced in driving quality performance
- Comprehensive understanding of and ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of a relevant sample of the type(s) of aircraft or components gained through a training course or on the job experience working with the products
- Experience in the effective use of problem resolution processes such as A3 or 8D and Root Cause Analysis tools e.g. 5 why analysis, Cause & Effect, Design of experiments, etc.
- Proficient in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, Root Cause analysis.
- Proven Experience and demonstrable success in Continuous Improvement best practices, such as Lean, Six Sigma.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- AS/EN/JISQ 9100 Lead Auditor Certified
- Comprehensive knowledge of part 21/part 145 and AS9100/AS13100
- Knowledge & Experience in Safety Management Systems (for application in a part 21 environment)
- Understanding of Calibration systems.
